Born in France and raised in Djibouti, Montreal-based singer-songwriter Shay Lia is the newest sensation to surface from the budding Canadian R&B scene. Shay Lia was first placed in the spotlight when acclaimed producer Kaytranada came across a video of her singing on Facebook, landing her a vocal spot on "Leave Me Alone," from Kaytranada's 2016 album 99.9%. Since then they’ve collaborated a handful of times, leading her to team up with artists like BADBADNOTGOOD and Stwo. Now with a university degree under her belt and more time to focus on music, Shay Lia is ready to let her true colours be known to the world, embracing her equal passion for dance and music as she readies her debut album.
