In February 2020, Canadian ice climber Will Gadd returned to Mount Kilimanjaro, six years after he first climbed the Tanzanian ice towers. With the mountain’s iconic ice cap disappearing rapidly, he discovered an entirely different world.
The Last Ascent is documentary for Red Bull Media House about how Kilimanjaro’s iconic ice cap is disappearing rapidly, with Will Gadd’s return to make one last ascent. The film has been nominated for a 2021 Sports Emmy Award under the Outstanding Digital Innovation category.
In addition to the feature length doc, Sarah also produced a mini-doc for Red Bull’s global YouTube channel, titled Why Kilimanjaro’s Glaciers Are Melting.
